Ok it's finally time for my first review :)
I heard all positive things about the Dust Cut line, especially about this finish cream from my friends and my last roommate, so I decided to give it a try.
It is a cream that protects the skin from harmful environment by forming a protective outer film on the skin. Its plant extracts also clarify dull and exhausted skin. It can be used during the day or at night.
During the day: it protects the skin against harmful factors in the air.
At night: it protects the skin against harmful factors remaining in bedding
I don't want to go into details about the ingredients etc. as it is all written on the box (you can see it on the photos), I just want to emphasize that it has:
NO mineral oil, NO sulfate, NO triethanolamine, NO artificial pigment and NO paraben,
because I actually know people that are allergic to some of these things.
This is how it looks like. It is not pink, but mint is also one of my favorite colors :D
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT
I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. I put it on during the last step of skin care, as instructed. It is supposed to be also moisturizing, but my skin is usually quite dry, so I use the moisturizing cream first and after I'm done with all the skin products I use (I don't use that many, usually just pore freshener, eye cream and moisturizing cream) I apply the dust cut finish cream.
It has a nice smooth structure so it is very easy to spread it all over the face, meaning that you don't have to use too much of it. It also has a really really nice smell (I love the smell!) although it is a really light smell, not strong, so I think it wouldn't bother you even if you didn't like it so much.
After I apply it I kind of get this tight feeling on the skin. It also says on the box that this is normal and it means that the protective outer film has been formed. However, when I say a tight feeling I don't mean it in a negative way, it feels rather good on the skin.
After applying it, I wait for a couple of minutes and then apply the make-up. I usually forget to put it on at night before going to sleep, but I apply it every morning before I do my make-up.
And the results?
Well, the whole point of this cream is to protect your skin from stress, dust and other negative thing from the environment. But it is hard to say whether that is working or not. If you click on the
link to the product on the ETUDE HOUSE website you can see the photos of a simple test. They applied the dust cream on the skin, put make up over it and then washed the make-up off with warm water. As a result, the make-up that has been applied over the dust cream is removed much easier than the make-up put over the skin without the dust cream. They say this is proves the protective filter on the skin. I didn't do this test, because some of my friends tried it and confirmed it is true.
But, in my experience, this is why I know it is working: I've never had any serious problems with acne even when I was a teenager, but I do get some pimples every now and then, especially when I touch my skin too much or if I'm under a lot of stress. Lately I've had some on my face too. However, soon after I started using the dust cut finish cream, all of the pimples slowly disappeared. I didn't even notice at first until my boyfriend commented on it. I then realized they disappeared soon after I started using the cream. I haven't had a pimple since ^^ Of course this doesn't mean that I've got a 100% pimple protection now lol but the cream obviously helps protect the skin from stress and harmful environment and if that means less clogged pores or less pimples, then that's just great!
I am very happy with the product, it smells wonderful, it has a nice texture, it feels really good on the skin and it clearly does help protect you skin from harmful environment. And since it helps me reduce the pimples that I get from stress I will continue using it.
Let me also say, that my skin is usually quite sensitive, but I've had no problems at all with this cream. I really have nothing negative to say about it, so I would like to recommend it to everyone! ^^
The regular price on the
ETUDE HOUSE website is 14.000krw (14$) for a 65g of cream. This is the
link where you can buy it, however, they only deliver to South Korea.
If you wish to order it from abroad, there are several websites where you can do so. I am not sure about the prices on websites like Amazon, but Korean online shopping mall such as Gmarket (also available in English) has the same prices and delivers all over the world. I don't know if the shipping is expensive though.
The DUST CUT line also offers two other products:
Dust CUT Mask Sheet
Dust CUT Facial Mist
I also bought the Dust CUT Mask Sheet but haven't used it yet. I'll try it out soon. I'm not sure if I'll buy the facial mist though, because I am simple not a big fan of facial mists and I think the finish cream does the job.
I hope you found this review helpful. If you have any questions about the product or if you wish to share your experience with the cream, feel free to leave a comment below. Thank you for your time ^^
